Tamburica Fest– Ulltra Popular Bohemian Session

tamburicainstrumentTamburitza is tradicional bohemian five-string, guitar-like instrument from Voivodina (north region of Serbia), Slavonia (north-east part of Croatia) and south Hungaria. It is very popular traditional music usually played by a octet band. Janika Balas, most famous tamburitsa player and his band from Pertrovaradin, celebrated this music worldwide.

About Festival

Famous world festival tamburitza is held in a small colourful village Deronje in West Voivodina region. This place has always been renowned for its top level tamburitza players, who would as a rule, leave Deronje and promote the music of Vojvodina’s plain around the world. At the end of June 2008, this beautiful and songful village gathered about 100.000 visitors, admirers of the sound of tamburitza music, and over 30 world and domestic orchestras. Beside tree-day music festival, there are art exibitions, traditional handcrafts, gournament competitions and tourist promotions.
